Cabiria could be a big change in fashion!

Cabiria1

For the 1st time in 70 years of NYC Fashion Week, a plus size designer is presenting her collection (sizes 40-52 EU, 10-22 US) on the runway! Eden Miller, the designer of Cabiria, will be joining five other non-plus designers in a showcase presented by the Fashion Law Institute at Lincoln Center tomorrow. Miller is no stranger to the fashion world, Eden is an award winning costume designer and wardrobe stylist!

Cabiria was born out of a desire to bring whimsy, sensuality and luxury to the plus size world. As a size 48-50 EU, 18-20 US, she knows how frustrating it can be to want luxurious fabrics and fine craftsmanship, but feel “the offerings in the stores simply aren’t right for my age or professional needs.” Because of this, she brings her years of expertise, high standards, and love of beautiful things to CABIRIA and to you.

Miller is breaking down fashion barriers and showing the world that plus size fashion has a place in the tents. This could be a big change in fashion! Acceptance of plus size in the straight size world! I am sooooo PROUD of Miller, being the 1st designer who does it. And yes… I am dreaming about it too.
I don’t want to promote full figured week, because… we should STOP creating different islands. We should integrate these 2 beautiful worlds. And the 6th of September this is going to happen.

I must say, I am very emotional about this… Cabiria is also represented at Madison Plus Select, where my label is represented too! I wish I was in NYC right now… and being front row tomorrow at her show. We share the same mission, the same dream. And yours is coming true tomorrow, Eden Miller! And I am very proud of YOU! Hopefully I will be next!

Thank you so very much Edith! I'm thrilled to do this show, and thank you so much for styling the latest Madison Plus Select photo shoot with Ivory May Kalber and Denise Bidot in Cabiria.. socks with heels and all. I love challenging people's stereotypes of what people should and shouldn't wear, especially when I can tailor them and finish them beautifully. Not really like my grandmother's housedresses at all. Cheers!
