Today and tomorrow the first official British Plus-Size Fashion Weekend is set to take place at Shoreditch Town Hall in London. It will feature clothes and swimwear for women sized 44+ EU/12+ UK by 14 designers including Anna Scholz, Simply Be, Syneeta Badu, Carolyn de la Drapiere, London-based label One One Three and more.
Rianne Ward, who runs Evolve Magazine, is organising the event with fashion blogger and plus-size designer Remi Ray. This will be the biggest plus size fashion event that the UK has seen so far. The event is being produced to bring together plus-size brands and the consumers that embrace them. One of the bloggers, who will be there is Nefferth Bernadina from Mode-plus.
Unfortunately I couldn’t be there because of other plans. And yes, I really wanted to meet all the ladies who share the same message and mission and have a chat with them. I am sure there will be more in the future!
There’s another thing… I am pro runways who will show size diversity. I think it would be better to combine these events: London Fashionweek with the plus size movement. And in the future we will see some size diversity on the catwalk during every fashion week.
Good luck today and tomorrow! I am looking forward to hearing all the stories and seeing the pictures!
I already mentioned that Jada Sezer (size 44-46) is in Plus Model Magazine this month. Beautiful pictures of her, the interview you can read here. Jada is the face/body of London Plus Size Fashion Week. And she’s the new talent in ‘plus size’ world. She looks very special, has a gorgeous style and look.
The January issue of Plus Model Magazine is absolutely FANTASTIC! My compliments! And a great start for 2013. It starts with the cover: Clementine L J Desseaux (size 44 EU) is the cover girl! And inside this issue a blog interview with this gorgeous French inbetweenie. And not only an interview, but also some beautiful pictures. Besides this interview with Clementine also another fashion shoot with her. The cover came from this editorial. And another interview with inspiring inbetweenie Jada Sezer.
